On October 22, 2009, less than three years after its predecessor, Windows Vista, was released to manufacturing, it became generally available for retail worldwide.
Windows 7’s server counterpart, Windows Server 2008 R2, was released at the same time. Microsoft released Windows 7 with multiple versions such as windows 7 professional, windows 7 ultimate, windows 7 starter, windows 7 home basic, windows 7 enterprise and windows 7 home premium.
